Process Piping Fabrication, Spooling and Installation
Critical process pipework, fabricated, spooled and installed.
Fabrication, spooling and installation of critical process pipework is a core NWEC capability, built on over 30 years of continual service to the petrochemical, gas, pulp and paper, mining and energy industries, where productivity and reliability are paramount and the standards for safety, quality and performance are the highest.
What our piping capability covers
- High temperature and pressure piping in all grades and sizes
- Pipework for steam, chemical, condensate, process slurry and hazardous materials
- Carbon steel, chrome moly, stainless steel, PVC and lined pipe
- Comprehensive pipe welding procedures, including working to client procedures
- Off-site fabrication, spooling and testing
- Installation of valves, vessels, equipment, electrical and monitoring systems
- Pre-assembly into pipe racks and full modularisation
- On-site fabrication, running, testing and installation
- Critical tie-ins and commissioning, including shutdowns and live-site conditions
Quality and documentation Tier 1 contractors rely on
Process piping is scrutinised on its documentation as much as its welds. NWEC delivers the paperwork trail Tier 1 head contractors require:
- Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), developed and maintained per project
- Full material traceability, from mill certificate through to installed steel
- Manufacturer’s Data Records (MDR), weld maps and logs, handed over as a complete package
- Welding to AS/NZS ISO 3834.2, by qualified welders with qualified procedures
- Non-destructive testing and coating inspection to AS 1627.4, ISO 8501-1, AS/NZS 2312 and AS 3894
Standards and certification
The certifications NWEC holds, listed with their scope. These cover fabrication at our Villawood facility; full scope and current certificates are on the certificates page.
